As part of the historical and cultural heritage, Bhutan architecture has been preserved through the centuries and the government makes sure that new constructions are not in conflict with the traditional style. Designs, decoration, constructions methods,… in many parts of the country all is still done using traditional techniques. Even in the capital, buildings can be 5 floors high maximum and again decoration must be done with traditional designs.
